Abstract:
The modern neuroimaging techniques have revolutionized research in neuroscience and diagnostic procedures in the clinic. The use of computer vision algorithms to analyze acquired data can significantly increase the information yield from these examinations and provide new insight for the underlying scientific, diagnostic or therapeutic question.
Neuroimaging is used to understand the consequences of aging on the brain, and can help to discriminate healthy from pathological aging. Based on quantitative information extracted from brain images it is possible to obtain a patient-specific risk assessment in relation to the general population.
