Founder and CEO of Defineqa
Arlene Doria is the founder and CEO of Defineqa (www.defineqa.com). Defineqa is a biotech startup developing low-powered, acoustic microfluidics for portable diagnostics. Their platform will be the foundation for many in-vitro diagnostic applications in digital health. Doria completed her doctorate in biomedical engineering in 2013 at UCI. She has more than five years work experience as a senior process analyst in manufacturing of point-of-care diagnostics for Alere (formerly Biosite). She also has extensive experience in web development and analytics. Doria is an avid promoter of early diagnosis and decentralized patient care. Early diagnostics preclude the high costs from treating advanced stages of diseases. Faster, more accurate, and lower cost diagnostics will make healthcare more accessible to everyone!
The Entrepreneurship Seminar Series provides a real-world introduction to the theory and practice of entrepreneurship. Through a series of presentations by prestigious entrepreneurs and industry leaders, participants will explore the various organizational, strategic and financial challenges facing successful and unsuccessful entrepreneurs. Topics include start-up strategies, business idea evaluation, business plan writing, and introduction to venture capital. Free and open to the public.
