CEE Seminar: Building Site Development, Earth Shoring And Slope Stabilization Design

Abstract: This presentation discusses: how building sites are planned in terms of governing agencies, planning, zoning and design; when and where earth shoring is required; how it affects a building’s architecture; understanding the differences in application; cost for temporary and permanent shoring; knowing when to use soil nails versus tie backs to stabilize a slope; and how to coordinate between all design trades for seamless execution to ultimately save cost on projects.
Bio: Shrivastava joined the firm in 2021 with eight years of structural and shoring design experience. He has extensive knowledge in the design and construction administration of various types of structures including steel, wood, cast-in-place concrete, permanent and temporary earth shoring, underpinning, slope stabilization and micropiles. He has participated in the structural and earth shoring design of residential, commercial facilities inclusive of regional retail, office and mixed-use projects, hospitality, parking structures and the retrofit of various existing and historical buildings. Shrivastava is responsible for the technical execution, design criteria development, QA/QC and coordination of his assigned projects including but not limited to, technical communication with the design and construction team. He is also responsible for the design, oversight and development of the company’s shoring design services.
